  • Little House Big Story by Old World Wisconsin Monday, May 1, 2017
    Eagle
    W372S9727 Hwy 67
    Throughout the period
In 2017 Old World Wisconsin will celebrate the 150th birthday of Wisconsin native Laura Ingalls Wilder. "Little House in the Big Woods" has inspired millions of people around the world to learn more about Wisconsin, history and Laura's adventures since it was first published in 1932. Now it's your turn to be a part of Laura's story by participating in "Little House Big Story." The "Little House Big Story" contest asks people from all over the nation to submit their own story of how Laura Ingalls Wilder inspired them to learn more about Wisconsin, history, or their own family stories. You can write a story or a poem, paint a picture, dance or even put on a play...be creative and have fun! Old World Wisconsin will select finalists from each category (youth and adult) and on July 22, 2017 a panel of expert judges will select 1 winner from each category as part of our World of Little House event. Do you have a Big Story to share? We'd love to hear it. Good Luck! Go to the Old World Wisconsin web site for entry information.

  • Historic Beer Brewing at Old World Wisconsin
    Eagle
    W372S9727 Hwy 67
    10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Old World Wisconsin and the Museum of Beer and Brewing are partnering and bringing to life 19th-century brews. See the brewers use equipment and techniques from the late 1800s and heirloom hops and barley grown at Old World Wisconsin. By reconstructing immigrant brewing processes we are illuminating important aspects of our state's culture, industry and German heritage. Historically, breweries were located in nearly every small village in Wisconsin during the 19th century and were cultural focal points. The brewing process will begin by 10 am and conclude by 5 pm. Today we will be brewing American cream ale. Adults (18-64) $19; children (5-17) $10; (children 4 and under are free); Senior citizens (65 and over) $16. Fees include an all-day tram transportation pass. Parking is free.
