  • Chocolate Bar Session on the Farm
    Wisconsin Dells
    W13668 Highway 127
    2 - 4 pm
Ticketed Event! Come out to the farm and learn about where we make our truffles and, lesser known, single origin chocolate bars. Did you know chocolate is a fermented food? What ingredients should you look for in your chocolate? Ever eaten cacao beans? What does a cacao pod look like and how does it grow? We source our beans carefully, roast them, and turn them in to single origin bars. Each country provides different flavor profiles in the cacao beans. You will taste cacao beans, un-roasted and roasted, from different countries. Then we'll taste finished chocolate bars and test your "chocolate" meter to see if you can pick out the "good stuff.". You will learn that chocolate made with cacao beans and simple ingredients create a bar much different than the mass-produced ones you buy in stores. Space is limited so don't delay! Weather permitting, we will start with a tour of the farm, then move on to the tasting either on our farm hill with a beautiful view or in our 1901 farm building.

  • Hill & Valley Exploration Tour
    E4681 County Rd. S
    1st & 2nd weekends in October
About Hill & Valley Exploration Tour Two autumn weekends to explore farm traditions. Area farms open their doors to welcome you, and experience farm living first hand !   As markets go global, the small farm and rural way of life with all its great food and talent is under pressure to find new ways to market their product. Yet, the interest in, demand and desire for, conscious consumerism, is growing dramatically. We propose our farm tour coöperative venture, the Hill and Valley Exploration : A Celebration of Rural Life, to add value to the consumer, create a bridge into rural life, and assist the consumer in making contact with the producer. The additional value to the consumer provided by the Hill and Valley Exploration : A Celebration of Rural Life will translate into additional and sustainable sales for the rural farms and businesses on our tour in particular, and a larger market share for Wisconsin Agriculture in general.
