We are located minutes from I-43 in the beautiful country-side of Muskego. 4-J's strives to meet the needs of the demanding riders as well and the casual one. We are a small suri farm in SE Wisconsin. We became interested in alpacas in 2003 when we first saw alpacas at a town festival. We did research, visited a few farms, took seminars and finally purchased our first alpacas (after selling our lawn care business). We have top lineage from herd sires: Torbio, Bruxo, Ace, Fruzane Noir, Meteor el Nino, Midas Touch and Diablo. We breed for top conformation, density, luster, staple length and low micron (comfort factor). As a small farm we can give individual attention to each animal. Our herd sires produce some of the best luster in the nation! We hold tours of our farm, but call ahead please to make sure we are available. In addition to alpaca sales and breeding we have a farm store with hand crochet items, skeins, roving's, rug yarn, rugs, horse saddle pads, and batting all from our alpaca fiber. Other items include socks, vests, sweaters, fur items, etc. We include reproductive guarantees on males and females. GROUP TOURS are always available & we are OPEN YEAR ROUND. Green County Fairgrounds is a 38 acre multi purpose facility. We have a campground with 100 sites. We are on the Green County ATV trail and our facility is just blocks from the downtown square of Monroe. We have great halls for renting, multiple livestock barns with milking facilities and a track with amphitheater that seats 1800. We host many activities throughout the year. During our winter months we take in campers, RV's, boats and cars for storage.
Three generations work side by side at our U-Pick apple orchard. We host a short, 6 week season in the fall opening our Orchard to the public. Families enjoy our truly homemade bakery, apple cider, huge pies and our signature "apple dumplings" fresh from the oven. Our beautiful country side offers plenty of room to run and enjoy our version of a barnyard play area, haywagon ride, cow train ride and corn maze. Agriculture plays a strong role in Manitowoc County where there are more dairy cows than people. There are several great places to see farm and other animals - including alpacas. The Menomonie Area Chamber & Visitors Center has proudly served thousands of residents and businesses of Dunn County,as well as thousands of tourists to the region. Located within an hour of the twin cities, Menomonie provides a wide variety of entertainment and recreation for visitors.
There is something for everyone to see and explore on this 4th generation family farm, owned and operated by David & Leslie Meuer! March starts out with the farm making maple syrup. The maple syrup season goes for about a month, and the public is welcome to stop out anytime for a taste and to watch. Once maple syrup season ends, work begins to ready the 5 acres of strawberries for picking in June and July. Work starts by uncovering the berry plants from their straw covered bed, and soon after our honey bees are put out in different locations here on the farm. Pick-Your-Own and pre-picked strawberries are ready in June and early July. July and August is fresh pre-picked Wisconsin Blueberries, and then its fresh bi-color sweet corn. August is new crop honey being harvested here, and then it's our 10 acre corn maze along with hayrides, farm animals, the activity area, and pumpkin picking during the months of Sept. and Oct. We are handicap accessible here at the farm, even the hayrides! Fieldtrips, weddings, tours and outings for companies and groups are available anytime. Because this is an active, operating farm - visitors get to see planting, harvesting, cows calving, and all other aspects of farm life. Once a month from May thru Sept., join in the "Farm Flavors" farm dinner series. Experience a 3-5 course fancy dinner on location, accompanied by a special farm presentation.
