Since 1955, the Lautenbach family has been planting, harvesting and producing quality fruit products in Door County, Wisconsin. Situated on 100 acres of blossoming orchards and lush vineyards, the family estate is home to a winery, cider mill and farm market. Established in 1985, the winery resides in a restored dairy barn and produces most of its award-winning wines from fruits grown on the property. Estate-grown fruits include cherries, apples, grapes, raspberries, and pears. Several styles of wine are offered for complimentary tasting and purchase, ranging from dry to sweet, pure fruit and grape varietals, in addition to sparkling and spiced. The spacious farm market offers hundreds of Door County and Wisconsin-made products, featuring the popular tart Montmorency cherry. There is something for everyone to see and explore on this 4th generation family farm, owned and operated by David & Leslie Meuer! March starts out with the farm making maple syrup. The maple syrup season goes for about a month, and the public is welcome to stop out anytime for a taste and to watch. Once maple syrup season ends, work begins to ready the 5 acres of strawberries for picking in June and July. Work starts by uncovering the berry plants from their straw covered bed, and soon after our honey bees are put out in different locations here on the farm. Pick-Your-Own and pre-picked strawberries are ready in June and early July. July and August is fresh pre-picked Wisconsin Blueberries, and then its fresh bi-color sweet corn. August is new crop honey being harvested here, and then it's our 10 acre corn maze along with hayrides, farm animals, the activity area, and pumpkin picking during the months of Sept. and Oct. We are handicap accessible here at the farm, even the hayrides! Fieldtrips, weddings, tours and outings for companies and groups are available anytime. Because this is an active, operating farm - visitors get to see planting, harvesting, cows calving, and all other aspects of farm life. Once a month from May thru Sept., join in the "Farm Flavors" farm dinner series. Experience a 3-5 course fancy dinner on location, accompanied by a special farm presentation. The National Historic Cheesemaking Museum is located at the southern gateway to Wisconsin, just a few miles north of the Illinois/Wisconsin line. The staff eagerly awaits your visit to tell you the story of early cheesemaking which earned Monroe the title of the "Cheese Capital of the USA." During your visit, step inside the century old Imobersteg Cheese Factory to witness how cheese was made over a century ago. Each year on the second Saturday of June, join Master Cheesemakers and retired cheesemakers as they make a wheel of Swiss cheese, right before your eyes. Pearce's Farm Stand is located on the corner of County F and Hwy 67 midway between Williams Bay and Fontana. Four generations of family own and operate our farm. We strive to grow, harvest and deliver fresh quality produce. Our farm stand is open mid-July through October daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We offer homegrown vegetables, local honey, Amish jams, relishes and so much more. We are best known for our "Super Sweet" sweet corn and our amazing varieties of pumpkins. We also offer fresh, made on site donuts and kettle corn on the weekends. Our Fall Festival takes place the third weekend in September with free music, free cooked corn on the cob and hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Widmer's Cellars are known for their Brick cheese - made the traditional way in the same open vats that cheesemaker Joe's grandfather bought in 1922. Joe is one of Wisconsin's Master Cheesemakers.
